It is with much regret and profound sadness that we must announce the passing of our former President and long-time member Jamie Grant. Jamie touched the lives of many; with his brilliant mind, thoughtful actions, never ending stories, and kind and gentle spirit. Jamie helped hundreds of researchers and historians, authors, and playwrights, from all over the world who sought his guidance and information. He cannot ever be replaced. His wealth of information was never ending, and even as things became difficult, he graciously helped whoever he could. Thank you Jamie for everything you did for us and your community, and for everything you meant to us. Our condolences are extended to Jamie's wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and to everyone who knew him as a friend.

Annual General Meeting of our Society is Sunday June 21st at 7:00 pm at old court house museum in Guysborough. We are seeking new members and more executive members for our Board of directors. A great way to enhance a resume and build skills.

Wishing everyone a lovely Nova Scotia Heritage Day. This year Nova Scotia recognizes senator Comeau. We recognize the incredible long history of French and Acadian history in Nova Scotia.. which started for guysborough county began in the 1630s.
