Shelldale Family Gateway We are a registered charitable organization providing programs & support for our neighbourhood children, youth & their families

Shelldale Family Gateway's respectful multicultural approach strives to meet the needs of a diverse community, offering programs and supports that improve lives, and have been transforming the neighbourhood for over thirty years. Located in Guelph, within the Shelldale Centre, we provide an integrated service model through experienced staff and volunteers, working closely with community partners.

Shelldale Family Gateway is a provider of EarlyON programs (ages 0 - 6) serving Wellington County, as well as our specialized programs funded through grants and donations which address the unique needs of children, youth and their families living in the Onward Willow neighbourhood.

🌞 Summer Staff Spotlight: Meet Laura! 🌞

We're excited to shine the spotlight on Laura, the last of our amazing summer staff members at Shelldale Family Gateway this year!

You may already know Laura, as she first joined Shelldale as a co-op student and is now leading our Teen Program. Outside of Shelldale, Laura is currently studying Social Work and is passionate about supporting individuals and strengthening communities. Her compassionate approach and commitment to helping others shine through in everything she does.

🎉 Fun Fact: Laura loves sports and enjoys staying active through a variety of athletic activities!

Laura is always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. Her positive attitude, willingness to support others, and dedication to our community make a meaningful difference every day. We are so grateful to have her as part of the Shelldale team.

🌟 Summer Staff Spotlight: Meet Alaa! 🌟
We're excited to shine the spotlight on Alaa, one of our amazing summer staff members at Shelldale Family Gateway!

Alaa is currently in high school and is actively involved both inside and outside the classroom. She has a passion for musical theatre and is a dedicated student leader as the President of the Black Student Union (BSU). Through this role, she helps organize workshops, assemblies, and events that create opportunities for learning, leadership, and community connection.

Alaa enjoys helping others and hopes to pursue a career as a midwife in the future. Her caring nature, compassion, and commitment to supporting those around her make her a wonderful addition to the Shelldale team.

🎸 Fun Fact: Alaa loves playing string instruments! She can play both the guitar and bass guitar, and is currently working on developing her skills with classical string instruments.

🎳 Another great day of summer camp adventures!

This week, our campers headed to Splitsville Bowling Alley for an action-packed afternoon filled with bowling, laughter, and friendly competition. From cheering each other on to celebrating strikes and spares, everyone had a fantastic time making memories with friends.

As an extra surprise, the fun continued with a visit to McDonald's, where campers enjoyed a special treat to end the day! 🍟🍔 The smiles on everyone's faces said it all.

A huge thank you to Splitsville Entertainment Centres for hosting us and to McDonald's Canada at 243 Woodlawn Road West for their generosity and hospitality. Your support helped make this another unforgettable summer camp experience for our campers!
