🏃‍♂️The Big Little Run starts with YOU!

We’re looking for enthusiastic community members to join our Big Little Run Committee and help bring this exciting annual event to the finish line on September 27, 2026 at Guelph Lake Conversation! 🏁

As a committee member, you’ll help shape the event through sponsorship, fundraising, marketing, logistics, volunteer coordination, and more. No specific experience is required—just a passion for supporting local youth and making a difference in our community.

Committee members will meet bi-weekly from July through September (approximately 7 meetings total) as we work together to create an unforgettable event for local youth.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is seeking an Event Coordinator (Summer Youth Position) to help support fundraising events, community engagement initiatives, volunteer coordination, sponsorship activities, and preparations for our annual Big Little Run.

OUR JUNE VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT IS WING! ✨

Wing wanted to become a mentor because as a former “little”, he knew that when he was old enough, he would become a “big” to pay it forward. In both of Wing’s professional life, as a first responder and on the academic path in psychology, Wing has seen firsthand how much of a difference early intervention and consistent support can make in a child’s life. Wing wanted to step outside of a crisis-response role and engage with the community in a way that focuses on long-term growth and preventative wellness. To Wing, “mentoring felt like the most authentic way to give back to the Guelph community.”

To Wing, mentoring means being able to pass on resources and knowledge to others. Wing stated, “Mentorship takes on many forms, and I believe everyone deserves to have that as a resource. In this case, what being a “big brother” means to me is being a friend who leads by example. I firmly believe that the biggest assets in our lives are our people. Being altruistic is investing ourselves into our people. It is showing up for someone during their losses and their wins.”
