In an effort to increase writing capacity for our learners, all of our teachers have committed to carving 5 minutes at the end of each class to write. This accumulation of 20 minutes a day will help our students to consolidate their learning, build thinking and writing, and journal. In conjunction to our school board priorities our students will increase their literacy skills. We have provided journals for each student, and each teacher will prompt the class’ writing activity.

Staff and students in Rainbow Schools will wear pink on Thursday, September 17th for "Stand Up Against Bullying Day" as the board marks the start of another school year with a focus on safe schools.
“When students feel safe, supported and welcomed, they develop a strong sense of belonging at school,” said Chief Executive Officer Bruce Bourget. “Belonging is fundamental to well-being and provides a foundation for student success.”
CEO Bourget also invites parents/guardians, education partners and community members to join staff and students in Rainbow Schools in wearing pink on September 17th.

Headstrong is a group at Sudbury Secondary School aimed at supporting student mental health.
We meet regularly each week.
Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 22nd in room 302 and we are having a pizza party for those joining us.
Your teachers will share a form in the Google Classroom for you to commit your attendance.

Sudbury Secondary School is committed to making our students stronger writers. In an effort to increase writing capacity for our learners, all of our teachers have committed to carving 5 minutes at the end of each class to write.
