Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation The "Send-A-Kid To Camp" Program was established in 1984 to provide disadvantaged children aged 5-14 with the opportunity to attend summer camp.

The Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation is a registered charitable organization that provides opportunities to underprivileged youth in the Sudbury, Manitoulin and surrounding districts. Children are referred to our program by various local social agencies that feel the child would benefit from this type of experience. Some parents cannot afford the luxury of sending their child to camp, and some children live in violent or abusive households. With this program, children who otherwise don't have the opportunity to enjoy such an experience, get to live out the fun, freedom and excitement that summer camp brings. "Send-A-Kid To Camp" allows these kids to just be kids!

💙 Behind every great summer camp is an incredible team of people who make it all possible.

This summer, our SMCF camp counsellors brought patience, creativity, kindness and endless energy to camp each and every day. Through games, crafts, adventures and new experiences, they helped create a space where children could learn, grow, make friends and simply be kids. ☀️🏕️

Our counsellors shared that this summer taught them patience, teamwork, communication and empathy.

💬 “I learned to be more patient and how to better handle different situations with kids.”

💬 “I learned that work can actually be enjoyable. Having such a great group of people around you makes a huge difference.”

💬 “I learned to be more empathetic because you never really know what someone is going through at home.”

In 1976, seven Sudbury locals decided every kid deserves a summer. They formed the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation, and for 50 years SMCF has been making that true, through Send-A-Kid-To-Camp, Play, and Bursary programs that help kids be kids .

Today, children and youth across Sudbury and Manitoulin are building confidence, finding friendship, and discovering what they’re capable of because of supporters like you 💙🙌.

🍂 Fall is just around the corner!

As summer winds down, we're already looking ahead to a new season of activities and opportunities for local children.

The Fall PLAY Program will be starting in October, giving eligible children the opportunity to participate in activities throughout the fall season.

And while the summer season is coming to an end, the fun doesn't have to!

More than a golf tournament, it’s an opportunity to help kids be kids. ⛳💛

Through the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation’s PLAY Program, local children and youth can access sports, recreational activities, and new experiences that help them build confidence, develop skills, and discover what they love.

Every team, sponsorship, and donation to the Chip-In FORE Children Golf Tournament helps make these opportunities possible for children across Sudbury and Manitoulin.

Join us on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Cedar Green Golf Club, and be part of something bigger than the game.
