Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation

Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation The "Send-A-Kid To Camp" Program was established in 1984 to provide disadvantaged children aged 5-14 with the opportunity to attend summer camp.

The Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation is a registered charitable organization that provides opportunities to underprivileged youth in the Sudbury, Manitoulin and surrounding districts. Children are referred to our program by various local social agencies that feel the child would benefit from this type of experience. Some parents cannot afford the luxury of sending their child to camp, and

some children live in violent or abusive households. With this program, children who otherwise don't have the opportunity to enjoy such an experience, get to live out the fun, freedom and excitement that summer camp brings. "Send-A-Kid To Camp" allows these kids to just be kids!

💛 “This summer has been truly special. I got to reconnect with my inner child and gain so many valuable skills. The best part was watching the kids flourish — seeing them come out of their shell, try new things, and truly enjoy themselves. It doesn’t even feel like a job sometimes because you get to experience the joy right alongside them.”
— Madysen, Camp Counsellor

Summer camp season is almost here ☀️

From building confidence and friendships to trying new adventures, camp gives children experiences that can shape them for years to come. And behind every unforgettable summer are caring counsellors helping kids feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

If you’re hoping to send your child to camp this summer, now is the time to get your referrals and forms submitted — spots are filling quickly!

Through Send A Kid to Camp, we’re proud to be **helping kids be kids** 💛

Introducing “A Celebration of Colour” by local artist Sheryl Boivin for our annual Charity Chair Auction this June! 🎨✨

Artist Biography: Sheryl Boivin
Sheryl Boivin is a local artist born and raised in the Sudbury area. While working full-time as a medical secretary, she also maintains a studio in downtown Sudbury, where she continues to create and share her artwork with the community.

About the Design: “A Celebration of Colour”
Created for the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation, this year’s chair was inspired by a desire to create something fun, vibrant, and reflective of the spirit of the Foundation. While Sheryl began with a clear vision in mind, the design evolved organically throughout the creative process.

Filled with colour, energy, and playfulness, the chair celebrates imagination and joy while highlighting the positive impact the Foundation has on local children and youth. The result is a cheerful and uplifting piece that encourages viewers to embrace creativity and see where it can lead.

✨ We are incredibly grateful to the ETFO Rainbow Teacher Local for their years of generous support of the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation.
It was a pleasure to connect and share a meaningful conversation about the impact these contributions have on children and families throughout our Sudbury and Manitoulin communities with Meredith Coulas and Leane Koskela. Together, we reaffirmed the importance of ensuring every child has access to opportunities that help them learn, grow, and thrive.
Because of the continued generosity and dedication of partners like ETFO Rainbow Teacher Local, more children can attend summer camp, participate in positive recreational activities, and pursue their dreams.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to making a difference in the lives of local children. Your support helps create brighter futures. 💙
