We are a housing focused shelter for women, families and children who are experiencing homelessness.

Mission Statement
Cedar Place Women & Family Shelter is run on the principles of Christian belief, dedicated to the service of God and humanity. At Cedar Place, it is recognized that all have emotional, social, physical and spiritual dimension. Cedar Place seeks to address every aspect of these needs by providing food, shelter, employment, pastoral care and medical assistance referral wherever possible. Core Values

Giving back feels good! ❤️

On Friday, some of our clients and staff had the opportunity to volunteer at The Salvation Army Food Bank. They wanted to give back to their community and lend a helping hand to others.

We are so proud of their kindness, generosity, and willingness to make a positive difference. Every act of service, no matter how big or small, helps build a stronger and more caring community.

A heartfelt thank you to OWLE for their incredible generosity!

On April 9, 2026, Ontario Women in Law Enforcement OWLE hosted their Northern Training Day at Science North, where fundraising efforts raised an amazing $2,000 for The Salvation Army Sudbury Cedar Place.

We are truly grateful to Chief of Police Sara Cunningham for selecting our shelter as this year's recipient. It was an honour to welcome Chief Cunningham, along with Staff Sergeant Sherry Young, as they presented the cheque to our team.

This generous donation will help us continue providing support, shelter, and hope to women and families in our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed and made this possible. Your kindness is making a real difference!

🍩 Happy National Doughnut Day! 🍩

Did you know National Doughnut Day was established by The Salvation Army to honor the "Doughnut Lassies" who served doughnuts and provided comfort to soldiers on the front lines during World War I? Their kindness and dedication continue to inspire us today.

To celebrate this special day, Cedar Place staff headed out into the community to share doughnuts and recognize some of the amazing organizations throughout Sudbury that work tirelessly to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The house is decorated for a very special milestone at Cedar Place! 🎈🎂

Today we are celebrating a 1st birthday, and it’s such a beautiful reminder of hope, new beginnings, and the strength of the families we serve every day. Seeing smiles, decorations, and joy fill the house makes moments like this truly meaningful.

🚗💙 Join us on Saturday, May 23rd for the Drive for the Community event at Cambrian Ford!

From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, every vehicle test driven means support for the women and families at Salvation Army Sudbury Cedar Place.

For each test drive completed, Cambrian Ford will generously donate $30 to Cedar Place! 🙌
