**Council secures Meeting with the Minister**
The City of Greenwood is pleased to announce that Council has secured a meeting with the Minister of State for Local Governments and Rural Communities at the 2026 UBCM Convention. Council will be advocating for provincial grant funding to support construction of a new, compliant, post disaster rated fire hall on Highway 3. This project is essential to ensuring safe, modern fire protection for both Greenwood and the Greenwood Rural fire protection area. We look forward to advancing this critical infrastructure priority on behalf of our community.
NOTE: the hall in the photo is the actual concept design created by the City contractor. The hall is designed to fit the historic character of Greenwood. It will be a state of the art facility.

BREAKING NEWS: Christina Lake is experiencing a banana shortage and I may know why.

This morning's mission was simple: drive to Smoochies Brewing Co. (1885A Bakery Frontage Road, Christina Lake), order a smoothie bowl, with bananas, and become the healthiest version of myself. Unfortunately, my banana dreams were crushed when I was told they had sold so many smoothie bowls that morning they had run out of bananas!

Even without the banana slices, the smoothie bowl was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with a fresh drip coffee. By the time I finished breakfast, I felt prepared to conquer my inbox, inspire world peace, and maybe even get a meeting summary written.
