With an increased risk of lightning after a period of hot, dry weather, we expect to see new wildfire starts in the coming days. Our fire crews are gearing up accordingly.

When wildfire risk is heightened, there are many ways you can prepare too:
• Create an evacuation plan
• Know where to find trusted emergency information
• Stay informed about weather alerts
• Create an online profile if you’ll need support during an emergency at ess.gov.bc.ca/
• Make your home more resistant to wildfire damage by taking action to FireSmart your property
• Build an emergency kit that includes essentials, such as water, non-perishable food, medication and a first aid kit
For more resources, head over to www.PreparedBC.ca.

The Saved feature on the BC Wildfire mobile app also allows users to create and manage personalized bookmarks of geographic areas of interest and specific wildfire incidents. Users can select up to three Saved Locations and unlimited saved wildfire incidents, to quickly access the information they need.
