We have put together a simple guide on our blog to help you prepare for the municipal election.

It covers how to vote, the decisions and services that municipal governments and for responsible for, why your vote matters, and includes a pre-written letter you can send to local candidates asking for support for gender-based violence services in our community.

Check it out here: https://artemishuron.ca/your-vote-your-community/

You may be one of those people who thinks, "I don't care about politics."

But if you care about affordable housing, safe communities, recreation, local services, or your neighbours - you care about politics.

All of these things are impacted by decisions made by your municipal government.

Make sure you have your say in this municipal election. For Huron County, online and telephone voting are open now until October 26! 🗳

We are inviting women-identifying survivors of sexual violence in Huron County to join a 6-week confidential, supportive, facilitator-led peer support group focused on building skills and strategies to support healing, well-being and empowerment.

The sessions will run Monday evenings at our Emergency Shelter location (376 Huron Rd in Goderich) from October 26-November 30, 5:30-8:00 PM.

For more information and/or to express interest, please email [email protected] by October 18.
