Guess what? Chicken butt! 🤣 Kidding!

But seriously...Sibshops are starting again this month!

Sibshops are a fun opportunity for siblings of children and youth with disabilities to meet other siblings who share similar lived experiences. It's a chance to connect, have fun, make friends and just be themselves!

Click on post below to learn about how to register!

We’re excited to announce that Sibshop is starting up again on September 10th! 🎉

Sibshop is a fun and supportive peer group for kids and youth who have a sibling with a developmental disability, autism, or mental health concern.

It’s a chance to:
✨ Connect with other siblings who “get it”
✨ Share experiences and feelings in a supportive environment
✨ Build friendships and confidence
✨ Have fun and just be a kid!

👧🧑 Ages: 7–18
📅 Starting: September 10th
⏰ Time: 5:00–7:30 PM
📍 Location: Huron County Museum

This program is offered in partnership with Rural Response for Healthy Children.

📧 Registration: Email Andria at [email protected]

Whether they’re new to Sibshop or returning, we’d love to see them there! 💙

💙 A huge thank you to Malia for all of her hard work this summer during her internship with Huron Respite Network and Community Support for Families-Huron County
Malia has made such a positive impact through the connections she has built, her genuine kindness, and her ability to see every person for who they are and recognize the unique gifts they bring. There is no doubt that Malia’s future is incredibly bright!

We wish you all the very best as you return to school this fall. We know you’ll do amazing things! 💙

Thank you to Malia who joined us this summer at CL-CH as our ECL intern student from Fanshawe College!

Malia you’ve been kind, creative and innovative with your ideas and contributions to our children’s services programs. See you in September for Part 2 of your time with us! We can’t wait to see what’s in store!

A community where everyone belongs is what matters most. ❤️

We’re proud to be part of an initiative bringing communication boards to 7 parks across Goderich! 🌳💬

Stay tuned later this week for a quick video showcasing each park and its new communication board!

COMMUNICATION BOARDS

Community Living-Central Huron (CLCH) is proud to support this initiative alongside the Town of Goderich, creating more opportunities for every child to truly belong, participate, and feel included in our beautiful community. Communication Boards have been installed at seven (7) locations in Town; Rotary Cove Beach, Main Beach, Lions Harbour Park, Victoria Park, Bannister Park, Bingham Park and the Maitland Recreation Centre playground.

The addition of a Communication Board, designed using principles of universal design, is an important step toward making our community more accessible for everyone. It supports young children in their early years, non-traditional communicators, children who use spoken language, and everyone in between. Because communication, connection and belonging should be opportunities available to every child.

CL-CH and the Town of Goderich are proud to be part of building a more inclusive community where every child has the opportunity to participate, connect and belong.
