Terra Nova National Park of Canada provides a stunning example of the Eastern Newfoundland Atlantic Region characterized by boreal forest and irregular rocky coastline. The landscape of the park varies from the rugged cliffs and sheltered inlets of the coastal region to the rolling forested hills, bogs and ponds of the inland. Terra Nova National Park also possesses a rich human history including the remnants of both Aboriginal and Euro-Newfoundland seasonal settlements and the impacts of logging and boat building in the area during the 18th-19th centuries.

⚠️Traffic advisory⚠️

Toady, September 2, 2026, there will be a scheduled lane closure on the Big Brook Bridge, east of the Newman Sound Campground entrance, on the TCH within Terra Nova National Park. Traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane.

Motorists are advised to obey all on-site traffic signage and instructions from flag persons.

Tonight is , so it's time to put your bat knowledge to the test!

Can you spot the MYTH 🔎:
1. Bats are classified as rodents because of their teeth and small size.
2. Some bats can eat hundreds of insects in a single hour.
3. Most female bats have just one pup each year.
4. Not all bats live in caves. Some spend the day under loose tree bark or in tree cavities.
