Got a package in the mail today from United Kingdom containing an Alan Jackson CD. Unfortunately we cannot make out who sent the CD. Very much appreciated as we have lost our one with the song "Where were you when the world stopped turning". This song is very sentimental to both of us. Thanks to whoever. Would love to thank you. Some of the wonderful guests we have met this summer with Meet the Flynns. They have come from all parts of the world. They have been great guests with many stories and very interested in learning more about our areas response to 9/11, our involvement in Come From Away and our beautiful province. Even had two birthdays. A great summer so far.

Just to let you know that Meet the Flynns is back in operation for the summer. Give us an email or message to book an appointment. Our session takes about 2-21/2 hours in our home. Meet the Flynns - a Come From Away experience

Come to Newfoundland and meet Derm and Dianne Flynn who are showcased in the award winning ‘Come From Away’ Boardway Musical . The Flynns are an outgoing and fun loving couple that were totally involved in every aspect of the Newfoundland response to the tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001, when the North American airspace shut down and almost 7,000 passengers were diverted to Gander International Airport and hosted by various communities throughout Central Newfoundland. They opened their hearts and home to people from all over the world during this time and now would like to meet you.

Visit the Flynns home and have an interactive discussion on Central Newfoundland and Gander’s role in the events of 9/11. Take a stroll with Derm to the Riverfront Peace Park that was built as a result of the generosity of passengers, to view the steel beam from the Twin Towers. Have a cup of tea and light snack and if you are a come from away, become an honorary Newfoundlander by participating in a screech in.

Derm has spent 32 years in Municipal Politics and is well known throughout the province as a good samaritan and now the world as his persona is portrayed in the Broadway Musical Come From Away. He has an impressive wall of awards and accolades from various groups and programs, including the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and Provincial Senior of Distinction. Dianne, Derms better half is also a very active volunteer and is a life member of Kinette Club of Canada. She is a hugger and a very proud mother and grandmother.
