In 1972, Roland Galarneau, a legally blind electrical from Gatineau, developed the Converto-Braille prototype, the first computerized system capable of transcribing text into braille.
Throughout his career, he continued refining his inventions and secured multiple for these technologies, helping improve accessibility for people with visual impairments.
