Standing Committee on Official Languages:
Call for Briefs

The Standing Committee on Official Languages, an all-party committee of the Legislative Assembly, is responsible, in accordance with Motion 15, to lead consultations on a review of the Official Languages Act, to review the recommendations in the Report of the 2021 Review of the Official Languages Act of New Brunswick: Organization, Communication and Commitment, and to present its recommendations to the Legislative Assembly by December 31, 2026.

The Standing Committee on Official Languages invites written briefs from the public for the first phase of its consultation exercise. The Committee is interested in hearing your opinion on the implementation of the 2021 report and any factors since its publication that should be taken into account when revising the Official Languages Act.

It is recommended that briefs not exceed 1,000 words in length and may be submitted to the e-mail or mailing address below by April 8, 2026. Written briefs should contain original submissions. Relevant documents can be found at:
