A new school year can bring excitement, new opportunities, and a fresh start. But for some young people, it can also bring uncertainty about where they fit, what lies ahead, and how they'll manage challenges others may not see.

Our latest blog is a reminder to young people that their circumstances do not define their potential. You deserve to learn, participate, ask for help, and imagine a future for yourself, regardless of what life looks like right now.

As students across New Brunswick prepare to head back to the classroom, remember: you don't need to have everything figured out. Show up, stay open, ask for support when you need it, and know that you belong there.

Another incredible summer is in the books! 🏕️

As we wrap up our 31st season at Camp Tippy Canoe, we're filled with gratitude for everyone who helped make it possible.

Thank you to our funders, summer staff, year-round team, Board of Directors, parents, grandparents, guardians, bus drivers, contractors, maintenance partners, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to support another unforgettable camp season.

Most of all, thank you to our campers. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and sense of adventure are what make Camp Tippy Canoe so special. We hope the friendships, confidence, and memories you made this summer stay with you for years to come.

We'll see you next summer! 🛶

Over the past three months, our Youth Works team has continued to strengthen relationships with youth, employers, schools, and community partners, ensuring young people have the support they need as they navigate education, employment, and life beyond care.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these connections possible. Together, we're creating more opportunities for youth across New Brunswick.

Finding a first job or taking the next step in education can feel overwhelming, especially without the right support.

Youth Works is designed to help young people in and from care build confidence, develop practical skills, and discover opportunities that can shape their future. Through workshops, mentorship, and ongoing guidance, the program helps youth navigate important transitions with someone in their corner.

Every young person deserves the chance to reach their potential, and we're proud to support them on that journey.

Every number tells part of the story, but together they show the incredible reach of Sport3 this year.

Thanks to our dedicated school partners, facilitators, and supporters, hundreds of young people across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island had the opportunity to connect, grow, and learn through this unique program.

We're proud to see Sport3 continue to expand, creating opportunities for even more youth each year and helping build stronger, more connected school communities.

Sport3 helps middle school students build skills that last far beyond the classroom.

Over three immersive days each school year, students take part in games and activities that strengthen communication, encourage empathy, and develop conflict resolution skills. Guided by trained facilitators, they learn the value of cooperation, active listening, emotional regulation, and understanding different perspectives.

By combining sport with meaningful conversations, Sport3 empowers young people to build stronger relationships and develop the confidence and skills they can carry with them for life.

A decade ago, Partners for Youth hosted one of our Youth Engagement Summits (YES 2016), bringing together young people and community leaders to explore ways to strengthen youth mental health supports across New Brunswick.

The conversations and ideas that emerged from that summit helped lay the foundation for the New Brunswick Youth Advisory Council, which continues to ensure youth voices help shape decisions and drive positive change across the province.

Looking back, we're proud to see the lasting impact of youth-led engagement and the important work that continues today.

Whether your next step is work, college, university, a trade, or simply taking time to decide, there is no single path to success. Plans change, interests evolve, and every experience can teach you something valuable about who you are and the future you want to build.

Partners for Youth was founded on the vision of the Hon. Jim Ross, whose commitment to supporting young people continues to shape our organization today.

In 2000, Mr. Ross was appointed to the Order of Canada in recognition of his work establishing PFY. Today, he continues to actively support our mission as Founder and Chairperson Emeritus of our Board of Directors.

His many honours also include induction into the New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame in 2009, three Rotary Club Paul Harris Awards, and the Learning Partnership Champion in Education Award in 2012.

We are proud to continue building on the legacy he created for youth across New Brunswick.
