Everett Worthington, Jr. is Commonwealth Professor Emeritus at Virginia Commonwealth University. His research and writing focus on forgiveness and other virtues, religion and spirituality, and issues related to marriage and family.
His mission is to help individuals, couples, families, and even communities and countries to forgive.
Everett’s recent work focuses on how forgiveness relates to justice, faith, and virtue. This interest followed the murder of his mother in 1996 and his journey to forgive the person responsible.
Everett has a PhD and a Master of Arts degrees in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia as well as Nuclear Engineering degrees from M.I.T. and the University of Tennessee. He is also the author or co-author of 16 books.
