Employment Opportunity – Safe Home Support Worker

Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation is currently accepting applications for a part-time Safe Home Support Worker.

This position is approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of leading to a full-time Coordinator position. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable supporting individuals and families experiencing a variety of challenges.

Overall Responsibility: Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation (LKFN) is currently managing multiple projects focused on building knowledge and capacity related to environmental management. The Monitoring Coordinator will support lands projects and lead the implementation of the Environmental Monitoring Strategy. The Monitoring and Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Lands and Resources team to execute on-going monitoring projects and work with youth to inspire the next generation of environmental monitors/land guardians.

Gas Assistance for Fall Harvester Assistance

Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation is taking names for the Community Harvesters Assistance Program.

Application forms can be picked up at the LKFN Office.
The Denendeh Resource Committee (DRC) will review the list of applications on September 10, 2026, after 5:00 PM.

Vouchers will be available the afternoon of September 11, 2026.

Important Note:
The First Nation relies on donations of meat and fish through programs like this to provide country food at LKFN programs and gatherings. This food is also provided to Elders and members who are unable to harvest their own.

LKFN is looking for the following for community programming:

Moose
- Spinal cord – Put a rag on the end of a willow and push it through the spine, holding a jar on the other end.
- Hide – For tanning.
- Hair – For tufting.
- Antlers – For crafts, even if broken.
- Head – Tongue, nose, eyes, head for Elders.
- Meat – Any cuts or quarters of meat for dry meat making, feasts and youth programming.
- Back leg bone – For fleshing tools.

Fish
- Full fish, cuts or fillets – Food.
- Fish scales – For art.

Caribou
- Same parts as moose – Especially the hide for drums.

Beaver
- Meat and fur
- Porcupine
- Quills

On the Land Guardian & Environmental Monitoring Training

Interested in learning more about the land and gaining hands-on skills in environmental monitoring?

The On the Land Guardian/Environmental Monitoring Training is taking place September 3–10, 2026 at Scotty Creek Research Station.

Participants will get hands-on experience with:

• Working with GPS
• Drone training
• Monitoring changes on the land
• Data collection
• Plant and wildlife identification
• Camp set-up and closure
• Fire suppression systems

This is a great opportunity to spend time on the land, learn new skills, and build knowledge that can be used to help monitor and protect our environment.
