If your kiddos are in Mrs. Fords Kindergarten class, don’t forgot to sign up for read in week if you can. Only one volunteer has signed up so far. Read the email to sign up to read to the kiddos. 3 volunteers still needed

Picture day! Don’t forget tomorrow is picture day for the Monday/Wednesday class, and Tuesday for the Tuesday/Thursday class!

Don’t forget, tonight is meet the teacher night at the school. From 5:30 - 7 pm. Also if any parents are struggling with parent portal or brightspace, bring in your sign in sheets tonight and someone will be able to help you.

Kindergarten Calendar
Because attendance on Fridays is varied, Elk Island Public School has published a calendar for your reference, available on the EIPS website. www.eips.ca/programs-services/early-learning/kindergarten/kindergarten-calendars.

Orientation Day
During the first week of school, we will be offering an optional introduction/orientation day for all kindergarten classes. The orientation day for your child is:

Wednesday, August 31
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. (last names A - H)
12:00 - 2:00 p.m. (last names I - P)

Friday, September 2
9:00 - 11:00 a.m. (last names Q - Z)

The kindergarten students enter and exit the school through the main doors by the office. Please send a small snack with your child on this day so we can begin to practice our classroom routines. School supplies can also be brought in on your orientation day.
Note: Busing will not be provided on these days so please make alternate arrangements for drop-off and pick-up times.

First Full Day of School

Wednesday, September 7 will be the first day of school for the Monday/Wednesday class. Bus transportation, if required, will be provided from these days forward.
