Here is your opportunity to take part in helping improve emergency services

✈️ Volunteers Needed for Airport Emergency Exercise ✈️

The Northern Rockies Regional Airport is looking for volunteers to participate in a full-scale emergency exercise on Tuesday September 22, 2026.

This exercise is a Transport Canada requirement conducted every four years and involves Airport Staff, Fire Rescue, RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, the Municipality, and the NRRM Emergency Operations Centre.

We are looking for approximately 16 volunteers (or more!) to help play the roles of:
🩹 Plane crash victims with varying injury levels
👋 Friends and family members ("meet and greeters") in the terminal building

📅 Date: September 22, 2026
🕙 Exercise Start: 10:00 a.m.
🕛 Debrief: 12:00 p.m. at the Terminal Building
🍕 Lunch Provided: Pizza

This is a great opportunity to support emergency preparedness in our community and help local responders train for a coordinated emergency response.

For more than 67 years, current & past board members, volunteers, members, and community supporters have given their time, energy, ideas, and commitment to help build and strengthen the Chamber.

Since incorporating on June 5, 1959, the Fort Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce has continued to serve our business community because of the dedication of those who stepped up, got involved, and believed in Fort Nelson.
