Children engaged in a hands-on science experiment by combining baking soda and vinegar to create a bubbling “volcano” reaction. They eagerly observed as the mixture fizzed, foamed, and overflowed, expressing excitement and curiosity about what was happening. The children explored the texture of the foam with their hands, scooped and stirred the mixture, and used dinosaur figures to extend their imaginative play.

Throughout the experience, children developed early scientific thinking by making observations, predicting outcomes, and exploring cause and effect. They strengthened their sensory awareness as they touched the cool, bubbly foam and watched the colorful reaction unfold. The activity also supported language development as children described what they saw and felt, and social skills as they shared materials, worked together, and discussed their discoveries.

The children explored their creativity by using natural materials such as sticks, rocks, flowers, leaves, and grass to create faces and unique designs. As they carefully selected and arranged each item, they strengthened their fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and imaginative thinking. This hands-on activity encouraged self-expression, creativity, and also supporting social interaction and conversations about different facial features, shapes, and textures found in the outdoor environment.

After that activity, they all returned to their favourite place under the stairs :)

Today, the children explored the outdoors while searching for bugs and small creatures. Using observation containers and tools, they carefully examined different insects and talked about what they noticed. The children showed curiosity and excitement as they discovered bugs hiding in nature.
The activity also supported a connection with nature and helped the children build respect for living things through hands-on exploration and cooperative play.

The children participated in a meaningful nature exploration activity by collecting and filling a “Natural Treasure Box” with items found outdoors such as sticks, pinecones, moss, flowers, rocks, and leaves. This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, observation, and a deeper connection with the natural environment.

As the children searched for treasures, they developed fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and early science skills by comparing textures, shapes, colors, and sizes. The activity also promoted teamwork, communication, and imaginative thinking as the children shared discoveries and discussed their special nature finds together.

Today we are fishing, counting ducks and matching colours.
We are sharing, we are focusing on catching the fish and playing with the water.

The children worked together, shared materials, and communicated with one another while taking turns and discovering different ways to play.

All that time, Austin was enjoying a little nap :)

Today the children are exploring a frog-themed sensory and literacy activity using natural materials, letters, and textures. Through hands-on play, they are developing early literacy skills by recognizing and arranging the letters in the word “FROG.” They are also strengthening fine motor skills as they manipulate wooden pieces, shells, and leaves.
They enjoyed finding the frogs and sorting them by colours.
