πŸ”₯ Live Burn Training Day for our 2026 Recruit Class πŸ”₯

Today, Pelham Fire Department recruits took a big step forward getting hands on experience in a controlled live burn environment.

There’s no substitute for real fire conditions. From fire behavior and heat recognition to communication and teamwork, today’s training pushed our recruits to apply their skills under pressure and build the confidence needed on the fireground.

Under the guidance of our experienced officers and firefighters, recruits worked through evolving scenarios designed to challenge decision making, reinforce safety, and strengthen crew coordination.

This is where training meets reality and where the foundation of a strong firefighter is built πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ’ͺ

Proud of the effort, focus, and professionalism shown by every recruit today. The future of Pelham Fire is in good hands.

A big thank you to Niagara Falls Fire Chief Training Officer, Derek Hicks and Training Captain Phil Roberto for your leadership and for giving us access to your training facility. And to Captain Greg Young, CMM II and District Chief Adam Arbour for another outstanding live burn session πŸ‘

SPRING IS IN THE AIR & your reminder that Sunday, March 8/26, clocks go forward one hour.

Remember to change your smoke/carbon monoxide detector batteries when you turn your clocks ahead and check their expiry dates.

Lastly, effective January 1, 2026, changes to the Ontario Fire Code require a working carbon monoxide alarm on every level of any residence with a gas-burning appliance, including a furnace, water heater, or stove.

Questions? Contact Pelham Fire Department 905-980-6646

Don’t forget to recycle your used batteries. Battery Recycle bins are located at Town Hall, Meridian Centre reception & Fire Station #1 for your convenience.
