Re: FIRE RESTRICTION

Effective immediately, the County of St. Paul is under a Fire Restriction. The Fire Restriction reads as follows:

1. Safe campfires are allowed in campgrounds and other areas only with approved pits. Pits should be constructed of non-combustible material, and a spark arrester or metal guard should be in place while in use.
2. No open fires are allowed within the County. I.e. brush piles, grass, fields.
3. No new burn permits will be issued.

Throughout the County of St. Paul, we have received a consistent amount of precipitation over the past 24 hours. Please know, as conditions change, we will continue to monitor and advise the general public as required. We ask everyone to enjoy themselves responsibly, and to ensure their campfires are attended at all times and completely extinguished when finished.

Re: FIRE BAN

Effective immediately, the County of St. Paul is under a Fire Ban. The Fire Ban reads as follows:

1. No open fires are allowed in campgrounds or in any other area within the County.
2. All fire permits are suspended or cancelled, and no new fire permits will be issued until further notice.

This order does not apply to:
a) Portable propane fire pits, that are CSA approved or UL certified and are designed for cooking or heating.
b) Gas or propane stoves and barbeques, that are CSA approved or UL certified and are designed for cooking or heating.

Great turnout this morning ... huge thanks to everyone for makin the trip down cleaned us out of sausage and left next to no pancakes ... lots of smiles and laughs we hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed having you... also need to shout out to St. Paul Fire Dept. for letting Sparky come out and play ... thanks again to everyone and congrats to all the prize winners !!!

We here at EPFD are super excited like every year to be going to the elementary school to do a fire prevention week presentation with the kindergartens tomorrow and Friday. We have something special planned this year :)

Elk Point Fire Department is recruiting anyone who would like to become part of the team as a fire fighter. We practice every Monday night at 7:00 pm except holiday Monday's. So come on down and check us out and see if you would like to join. Anyone interested in joining has to be 18 or older.
