The Elk Point Fire Department is excited to welcome everyone to our annual Easter pancake breakfast tomorrow morning!

NEW RESCUE TOOLS

On March 10th the Elk Point Fire Department took delivery of brand-new battery powered Hurst Jaws of Life rescue tools from Rocky Mountain Phoenix!

The close to 15-year-old rescue tools that the Fire Department has been using were getting wore out and in need of retirement. These new battery powered tools will open the ability to be more mobile and speed up extrication as our previous tools were limited to the reach of the hoses from the Rescue Truck.

We would like to thank our community and donors over the years. Without your support at fundraisers and events, this would not have been possible.

Thank-you to the Town of Elk Point and the County of St. Paul No. 19 for continuing to support the Fire Department in ensuring we have the equipment capable to do the job we need to do.

The Firefighters spent their Tuesday evening training on the new tools and brushing up on skills.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and recognize the incredible women who make our fire service family and our communities stronger every day.

A huge thank you to the women who are currently serving and those who have previously served with the Elk Point Fire Department. Your dedication, courage, and commitment to protecting our community do not go unnoticed. You continue to inspire the next generation of firefighters and leaders.

We also want to extend our appreciation to all women serving as first responders across every sector — fire, EMS, police, dispatch, healthcare, and emergency services. Your strength, professionalism, and compassion make a difference in people’s lives every single day.

We also want to recognize the fire wives and partners who stand behind us. When the tones drop and we have to leave the table, the house, or family time to answer a call, you are the ones holding things together at home. Your support, patience, and understanding make it possible for us to do what we do.

Simply put, we couldn’t do this without the women in our lives — both on the department and at home.

We recently held our Elk Point Fireman’s Ball and want to take a moment to sincerely thank all of our incredible sponsors for the evening!

From generous monetary donations, to silent auction items, to the people helping with security and the bar — this event truly would not have been possible without the amazing local support within and surrounding our community.

This video was on display throughout the evening at our event, and we wanted to share it here in appreciation of each and every one of our sponsors. Your support, generosity, and commitment to our community mean more than we can put into words.

BECOME A FIREEFIGHTER

The Elk Point Fire Department is holding our spring intake.

As a firefighter you will be responsible for: fire suppression, vehicle extrication, rescue, dangerous good incidents, medical assistance, ice/water rescue, and fire prevention. Firefighters are required to participate in weekly training and meetings that take place on Tuesday evenings. Firefighters are also strongly encouraged to participate in firefighting specific courses that take place throughout the year. Courses include: wildland firefighting, first aid, and NFPA 1001 firefighter training. Training is provided by the department. Previous experience is not required but is considered an asset.

Applications will be accepted till March 23rd. Interviews will take place the following week.

DID YOU KNOW?

Whether it is a private residence, or commercial property, as the owner with a fire alarm system, you are responsible to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the system.

If we respond to a fire alarm and it turns out the call was the result of a non-emergency situation, we classify it as a false alarm. Most false fire alarms can be prevented by knowing how your system works, and knowing the password or code when the monitoring company calls.

Accidents happen, and we know that. However, the Town of St. Paul can charge the property owner for ongoing false alarms, or when the system requires maintenance, and the owner refuses to have the work done.

FIRST Response – No Charge
SECOND Response - $100
THIRD Response - $200
Fourth Response - $300
SUBSEQUENT Response - $300

It’s been a real privilege for our office to donate $600 to this year’s Elk Point Fireman’s Ball!👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒

For every Commissioner of Oaths appointment we take on, we simply ask for a donation toward our annual community cause. Thanks to so many of you choosing Property Plus Realty and giving generously, we were able to raise these funds for the - an incredible group of people who do so much for our community.

We also added a little extra fun with a custom co****le set for the silent auction this weekend, it’s perfect for lake days this summer.
