We have had so much fun visiting with the local schools these past weeks! Thank you to all the teachers who have organized school tours, a special thanks to the EAs and parent volunteers without whom field trips would not be possible. A very big thank you to all the students! We loved your inquisitive questions and eagerness to learn about how the library helps everyone.
We would also like to say thank you to our friends from MBE who brought us hand made bookmarks to share with our community- what a kind and thoughtful gift. Make sure to stop by the library and get your one-of-a-kind bookmark before they’re gone!

Join us on Tuesday, June 23rd at 12pm for Lunch Hour Book Club! We will be discussing Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby. This thriller is about two ex-cons, Ike Randolph (a Black father) and Buddy Lee ( a White father), who team up for a violent quest for revenge after their sons, a married couple, are murdered. As the two fathers track down the killers, they are forced to confront their own prejudices and guilt about having rejected their sons' lives, and they learn more about who their sons truly were.

Benny is back with a new Beanstack reading challenge and this time, it’s not just for kids and youth!

Sign up for the Sun, Sand, and Stories Beanstack challenge and start earning beach themed badges for completing reading time and various activities. Completing badges will also earn you tickets on the app that you can use to enter for the prizes pictured below.

The Sun, Sand, and Stories reading challenge runs from July 1 to August 31, and winners will be contacted the first week of September. For patrons aged 0-18, use challenge code EDSONSUN2026. For patrons aged 19+, use challenge code EDSONSUNADULT2026.

New to Beanstack? Beanstack is a free app where you can earn badges for time spent reading. To create an account, follow the instructions below:
• Download the Beanstack app
• Search Yellowhead Regional Library
• Register yourself and/or your child for an account (anyone participating in Sun, Sand, and Stories challenge must have their own account, but multiple accounts can be linked under the same profile)
• Once registered, click the discover button at the bottom of the page and click challenge code
• Enter the appropriate challenge code to get started!

Check out these amazing shelves our patrons designed and 3D printed in our Makerspace program! We love seeing the creativity and problem solving skills that come to life through 3D printing.
A big thank you to Mckelvie for helping teach the class and introducing a new way to work with the 3D printer. We appreciate your expertise and support!

Wheel week starts today!

Wheel Week is coming to Edson: From June 8–14, youth are encouraged to get moving and choose active transportation around town for a chance to win prizes!

Whether you're heading to school, the Library, Leisure Centre, or Griffiths Park Centre, skip the ride and walk, bike, scooter, run, or rollerblade your way there. Every active trip earns entries into prize draws.

NEW this year: Join our Walking School Bus! Our volunteers and Community Development staff will help lead groups to school during Wheel Week. Drop-off at meeting locations between 8:00–8:10 AM. Please note this is June 8-12 ONLY.

Meeting Locations:
• Vanier & Westhaven students: Griffiths Park Centre (5414–6 Ave)
• Mary Bergeron students: Edson Public Library (4726–8 Ave)
