Sage Seniors Association

Sage Seniors Association In it's 56th year, Sage continues to be a trusted resource for seniors living in community.

Sage is a senior-serving not-for-profit organization that collaborates with partners who have one goal in mind: helping seniors to live their best lives possible. At Sage, seniors do as much as they can, as well as they can, for as long as they can. Our innovative social services and life-enrichment programs are bound by a common mission: that all Edmonton seniors live the fullest, healthiest, mos

t adventurous lives possible. Our community has a unique opportunity to view seniors as community assets; to not only offer help when they need it, but to ultimately encourage them to contribute and fulfill their potential. Seniors helped to build our province, and at Sage, they’re still building.

It is officially Seniors' Week. Thankyou to Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council and Edmonton Age Friendly Alliance for hosting a wonderful wonderful Kick Off event at City Hall. It was inspiring to see so many older adults, youth, community organizations, supporters, and advocates come together to recognize the contributions seniors make to our city every day as well as acknowledging the power of inter-generational connections.

We encourage everyone to embrace the many opportunities available this week, and throughout June to connect with seniors and across generations. Together, let’s celebrate older adults, learn from one another, and show our pride in creating a community where everyone can age with dignity, purpose, and belonging.

Join Sage in celebrating Seniors’ Week with live music, connection, and community in the heart of downtown Edmonton!

We'll be gathering outside City Hall by the fountain for a free outdoor celebration featuring live music from award-winning Métis fiddler Brianna Lizotte. Stop by Sage's tent to learn about programs and services for older adults, connect with community partners, enjoy free treats for seniors while supplies last, and even take a trishaw ride.

We're pleased to welcome GEF Seniors Housing and Edmonton Public Library, who will be sharing information and resources with attendees.

Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate the contributions, creativity, and vibrancy of older adults in our community.

📍 City Hall Plaza (by the fountain)
📅 Thursday, June 4
🎻 Live music from 12:00–1:00 p.m.

Special thanks to Edmonton Arts Council's Live at Lunch program and Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast for helping make this event possible.
Note: we will move inside City Hall if weather is poor

Creativity has no age limit — and for many older adults, retirement and later life can open the door to passions that finally have time to flourish. Whether you’ve been writing for years or are simply curious to try something new, Sage invites you to join us for a special Poetry Open Mic during Seniors’ Week.

Hosted by Sage volunteer and published writer Kevin Girard, this welcoming event is open to everyone. Share your own work, or simply come listen and enjoy the creativity of others in community.

This event also marks the launch of a new monthly poetry group at Sage — a space for connection, expression, and discovering the power of words together.

Wednesday, June 3 at 1pm at Sage.
