A new online portal has been created to collect information on how Alberta businesses are being affected by U.S. tariffs and Canadian counter-tariffs.

This will help shape Alberta’s response to real-world tariff impacts, ensuring decisions reflect the experiences and challenges that Alberta businesses are facing.

Engagement Opportunities
Have your say in the future of Alberta’s landscapes.
Alberta is developing sub-regional plans that will guide the management of land across the province. Planning will be completed for up to 14 sub-regions, including two heritage rangelands.
As draft plans are released, Albertans will have opportunities to share feedback and help shape decisions that affect local communities, land users, and future generations.
Stay informed and participate when consultation opportunities become available.
Here is the link to participate:

Sub-regional plans provide strategic direction to ensure environmental, economic and social needs are met in the region.

Getting ready for fall renovations? Alberta has rules for prepaid contracting.

If a business asks for a deposit or progress payment before the renovation is complete and the contract is solicited, negotiated or concluded in person away from the business location, the business needs a prepaid contracting licence.

Before work begins:
✅ verify the licence
✅ get a written contract
✅ keep records of payments.

We're taking this opportunity to reintroduce the Water Well Restoration or Replacement Program (WWRRP), a program that helps mitigate the impacts of energy activity on rural Albertans.

If you believe your water well has been damaged by energy activity at any point during a project's lifecycle, including:
✔️ Seismic exploration
✔️ Drilling
✔️ Operations
✔️ Reclamation

You may be eligible for reimbursement of costs associated with restoring or replacing your water source to a condition equivalent to what existed before the alleged damage occurred.
