We are the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta and a part of a worldwide movement to promote and raise awareness for Special Olympics. Officers from nearly every Law Enforcement Agency in Alberta donate their time in support of the largest grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics. Money raised at our one of a kind fundraising events throughout the year stays in the local community. Just one more way for Special Olympic athletes to develop and grow their skills.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run is excited to launch the inaugural Solar Plunge in support of the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat!

On August 11, we're taking our signature plunge event into the summer sunshine and inviting our community to cool off for a great cause. Join us at Icy Mountain Water Co. as participants take a refreshing plunge into icy water while raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes.

The excitement begins when the Final Leg Torch Running Team carries the Flame of Hope from the Medicine Hat Police Service at 11:00 AM to Icy Mountain Water Co., where they will join supporters, athletes, and community members for this unforgettable event.

It’s in the cheers and high-fives, the laughter, the encouragement, and the unwavering support…those are the moments that truly make a difference. Through your actions, you help show what inclusion really looks like, creating spaces where every athlete feels seen, valued, and celebrated.

What an incredible day at the St. Albert Special Olympics Bowling Tournament last weekend! 🎳✨💙

Members of LETR and St. Albert Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta were proud to cheer on 97 amazing athletes as they lit up the lanes with energy, sportsmanship, big smiles, and unforgettable moments. 🏅🙌💫
