Valour Place

Valour Place Valour Place- a comfortable, temporary, fully accessible residence for soldiers, RCMP, veterans and The Valour Place committee, led by Hon. Col.

Dennis Erker, of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, was been struck to raise $10 million to build and furnish the proposed 10,000 square foot facility of Valour Place. The board and committee membership has been drawn from both the civilian and military communities. All share a connection to the Canadian Forces. Some are current members of the CF, some are volunteers with military associations, some hav

e traveled to Afghanistan and some have family members who have served or who are currently serving with the CF. All committee members strongly endorse and support Valour Place as an important addition to the quality of life we enjoy in Edmonton. The vision for Valour Place in Edmonton has come from within this group of dedicated volunteers. It is our intention that the vision will be realized with the construction of a state of the art facility for injured soldiers and veterans and their families who do not reside in Edmonton.

Last week, our President Connie Erker received the keys to our new Honda Odyssey from Andrew Wheaton, and we are so grateful for this generous gift.

This van means so much to the families we serve. Our volunteers use it to get guests to and from the hospitals and medical appointments. Having reliable, comfortable transportation on hand is one way we help everyone feel at home during an already difficult time.

Thank you to the Wheaton family and the whole team at Wheaton Honda. Your support of our mission and the work we do here at Valour Place is felt by all those who walk through our doors!

On the lower floor of Valour place, we have an extra long hallway which we call The Runway.

It’s a space for privacy, confidence, and progress - where guests can take the time they need to practice, rebuild mobility, and regain independence at their own pace.

Every step forward matters.

Summer is here and we’re getting Valour Place ready to make the most of it! ☀️

We’re looking for volunteers to join us on Sunday, May 24th from 10am-2pm for outdoor cleanup and landscaping. It’s all about freshening up the yard and creating a space that feels welcoming and comfortable for the families staying with us!

If you’re available to lend a hand, email [email protected] to sign up. We’d love to have you join us and we will provide lunch!

What if you could donate $80,000 to Valour Place… just by showing up?

Just think about it… you’re not writing the cheque, but earning it through your volunteer time. $80,000 means more nights of rest for heroes far from home and more support when it matters most. It all starts with a volunteer shift and a good heart.

Our summer casino fundraiser at Grand Villa Casino in Rogers Place can raise up to $80,000 in a single weekend for the veterans, military members, and first responders we support. But none of that happens without volunteers like YOU.

Part of what makes Valour Place feel like a true home away from home is our shared spaces.

From a kids’ playroom, movies & video games, a gym, tabletop games, and a small backyard swing park on nice days. We have something for everyone to pass the time.

What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning!

For the fourth year running, the Knights of Columbus at St. Albert Parish held their Blue Sunday Mass in honour of those who have served, and once again, they chose to support Valour Place with the proceeds from their pancake breakfast.

We are so grateful to this community for showing up year after year. It is the kind of quiet, steady generosity that means the world to the families we serve.

Thank you to everyone at St. Albert Parish who made the morning so special!
