What a fun event!

Sharing another one of our Community-Based Budgeting stories!

My Walk & Talk Buddy, initiated by Simran Gulati, met up over the weekend for a yoga class taught by Arti Verma from Premras Yoga & Wellness in Ward Karhiio. They then enjoyed soup and sandwiches delivered by a local business.

Simran describes her inspiration for the project: "Every evening, my mom will come up to me and say 'Simran, let’s go on a walk'. Watching this everyday, I realized what my mom needed was a walk buddy. Someone who will be active with her, exercise at a similar level and who can talk about similar ideas. This brought up proposing a walk and talk buddy program!"

The project pairs people up (to find a work-out buddy, motivator of friend), then holds events for the buddies to come together to begin the relationship building between neighbours, with the hope that the pairs will then follow-up and do activities together.

Please join us for free yoga class on Saturday November 12, 2022 from 9 30am to 10 30am, at Premras Yoga Studio. Healthy snacks and juice would be served after the class. everything is free. Yoga class is for all levels beginners to advanced. Enjoy the company of each other and bend your body for refreshed mind and soul!
