A new era?
Housing in Canada is in crisis. Families are being priced out of their communities. Young people no longer believe they will ever own a home. And corporate landlords continue to profit while people struggle to keep a roof over their heads.
We need a national plan that puts people before profits.
That is why today I released my National Housing Emergency Plan, an ambitious housing strategy, built to take housing back from corporate control and make homes affordable again.
My plan tackles the crisis head-on by:
Ending corporate profiteering and giving communities the first chance to buy rental buildings;
Getting the federal government back into building homes, including public, affordable, non-market, and co-ops;
Protecting renters with a National Renters’ Bill of Rights and creating real paths to homeownership;
Partnering with Indigenous governments to support Indigenous-led housing solutions;
Ensuring no one is left without a home by investing in Housing First and ending encampment sweeps on federal land.
For decades, Liberal and Conservative governments have helped big investors treat housing like stocks to be traded for profit instead of a human right. That needs to end.
If you believe housing should be for people, not profits, I am asking you to join our team.
If you are already with us, thank you. You can help by sharing the plan with friends, volunteering, or making a donation to help us reach more Canadians.

Together, we can take housing back and build a country where everyone has a place to call home.
Thank you for your support,
Heather
