Sharing your feelings in a positive way makes it easier for your partner to understand your experience. You are not attacking; instead, you are creating an opportunity for a more respectful conversation.

Focus on how you feel and what’s going on for you, rather than accusing your partner. A helpful technique is to use “I” statements. Try “I feel anxious when plans change suddenly” instead of “You make me anxious when you change plans.”

🌟 Emotions are like colours on the canvas of our lives – they're neither good nor bad. 🎨

They are signals from our body telling us that something is out of balance. You can ask yourself what these feelings are trying to tell you. 🌻

The grieving process looks different for everyone.

There’s no right or wrong way to grieve, but there are healthy ways to cope with your loss. One way to work through these feelings is through creating art.

Whether you’re an avid painter or a wiz with crayons, our therapeutic support group, ‘Grieving Through Art’, is a safe space to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours associated with the loss of a loved one by death, separation, and even pet loss.

The deadline to sign up for our next group is May 28. Learn more or sign up today at https://tfcna.com/49KrVh5

At lunchtime, warm chatter and connection fill the walls of John A. McDougall School.

With Meena, the school’s mental health therapist, young girls build relationships and explore their feelings together. Each grade has a day during the week when they gather together. They share their emotions, laugh, and move their bodies through dance.

"The most helpful thing that I’ve learned is that it’s good to use your feelings sometimes instead of holding them in,” shared Vivian, grade 5.

Anger is normal, but how you handle it makes a big difference.

There are a lot of signs that you may not be handling your anger in a healthy way. You may act violently towards yourself, others, or property. Or when something unpleasant happens, your reactions feel bigger than the situation calls for.

Learn how to control your anger rather than letting anger control you. Register today for our next Men And Anger class happening May 16: https://tfcna.com/4vNkz5O

This class meets court requirements and is court-approved.

Parenting is a full-time job that requires a lot of energy. If you don't take time to rest and rejuvenate, you'll eventually burn out. And when you're burned out, you're not able to be the best parent you can be. When you carve out regular time for self-care, you will have more energy and patience.

This Mother's Day, we want to emphasize the importance of carving out time for self-care so that you can continue doing this incredible work.

Are you struggling with grief, unhealthy relationships, or 'baby blues'? Has it got you wishing you had someone to lean on who understands what you're going through?

Our therapy groups offer an opportunity to connect with others going through similar situations and work through life's challenges together.

While in individual counselling sessions you focus solely on your concerns, in a group setting you can hear other people’s perspectives, and feel supported by others in a similar situation. A group can help you feel less isolated as you’re going through your struggles.
