Cypress County is exploring the potential development of a new twin ice and curling recreation facility in Dunmore.
The proposed facility would include two sheets of ice and six curling sheets, creating a regional space for recreation, sport, community gatherings, events, and future growth.

More than a recreation facility, this project is envisioned as an anchor for development, a catalyst for opportunity, and a signal that Cypress County can build major projects in a professional, responsible, and timely way.

🚩 We're looking for a seasonal flagger.

Flaggers direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones, communicate with construction crews, equipment operators, and the public, assist with the setup and removal of traffic control devices, barriers, and signage, with a focus on safety.

🌾 We are inviting qualified consultants or consulting teams to submit proposals for an important new study focused on strengthening the long-term resilience of our agricultural sector. Through this project, Cypress County is looking to better understand how evolving trade conditions and tariffs are impacting local agriculture, while identifying new opportunities for growth through value-added agri-food processing and workforce development.

The selected consultant will lead research, analysis, and engagement with producers, processors, industry partners, and training institutions to help shape a practical, forward-looking strategy for the region.

Key areas of focus include:
• Agricultural market and tariff impacts
• Value-added processing opportunities
• Infrastructure and feasibility assessment
• Workforce needs and skills mapping
• Training pathways and labour market alignment
• A regional strategy for economic and workforce resilience

This work will directly support long-term planning for a stronger, more diversified agri-food sector in Cypress County.

🗑️⛈️ Seven Persons' transfer site will open Friday, June 19 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in order to help with cleanup from Tuesday's storm.

Normally the site is closed but we're making an exception due to the storm. You can find normal hours of all the county's transfer sites at www.cypress.ab.ca/p/waste-recycling
