📢 Community Notice

We regret to inform everyone that the Dundalk Firefighters’ Frolic will not be taking place this year.

As many of you know, last year marked the 75th anniversary of this special community tradition. We are incredibly proud of that milestone and grateful for the strong support that helped make it so memorable.

We understand this news may be disappointing, as the Frolic has been an important gathering for our community over the years. We truly appreciate your continued support and understanding.

We look forward to connecting again in the future and will share updates as plans develop.

Thank you for your ongoing support of your Dundalk firefighters.

While preparing your emergency plan, it's a good idea to plan for an evacuation or a shelter-in-place emergency and practice the plan to alleviate stress when and if the time comes!

Don't forget to include these often overlooked items in your 72 hours emergency kit:

☑️ Important documents
☑️ Hygiene products & dental care, including floss
☑️ Spare eyewear and medications
☑️ Cash in small denominations
☑️ Pen/pencil & paper
☑️ Sanitary supplies
☑️ Bug spray
☑️ Pet supplies
☑️ Playing cards/games

Lastly, stay informed and connected with our community. Establish a buddy system and check in regularly during an emergency. It can significantly reduce risks and stress during an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness starts at home!

We encourage you prepare a family and household plan in the event of an emergency in the Township of Southgate. Practise your plan, prepare your emergency kit. Be sure to also include contacts, medications, child and pet needs, and utility shut-off guides. Get to know your neighbours, their needs, and share any needs you might require help with.

Our Ontario Government site offers a guide on common hazards we could face and how to plan for them.

Prepare now and there will be less stress later!

Today is International Firefighters Day.

Help us honour all firefighters that risk their lives and time to protect our communities. This day also commemorates firefighters that have lost their lives in line of duty and deserve to be thanked and recognized for their contributions and sacrifices.

To our volunteers with the Dundalk Fire Department, your hard work and efforts to keep our residents safe with the immense amount of training and time you dedicate to our department is admirable. We support and appreciate you all.

Today, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our volunteer firefighters, police officers, and paramedics who give their time, skills, and personal safety to serve others. Their commitment and sacrifice ensure not only the safety of our residents, but also the support of our fellow first responders. We are deeply grateful for your service and teamwork - our community is safer and stronger because of you.
