1) CREATING a SIGN & standing in public Oct 5th from 1:30pm to 3:30pm in YOUR AREA or AT YOUR MLA office with fellow PWD from your area or with YOUR FRIENDS and ALLIES!

Disability Action of Canada is organizing a DJ infused RALLY at the B.C. Legislature on October 5th (first day back for our lovely MLAs) from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

The time has come!

The shifting of priorities, morality, accountability and support for our own community members ABOVE the GREED of the few, has brought about this DEMAND for Poverty Level Financial Support of ALL medically assessed & designated Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in B.C.

This comes after DECADES of government-imposed POVERTY, discrimination, oppression, abuse & alienation by the many Provincial GOVERNMENTS & POLITICIANS.

The era of GREED, profiteering, financial corruption & IRRESPONSIBLE budgeting is behind us!

We are demanding ACCOUNTABILITY & RESPONSIBLE financial support for our society’s most vulnerable - 150,000+ DISABLED in B.C.

We are CALLING FOR the monthly Disability Income Support to be EQUAL & TIED TO the Official Poverty Level of Canada, once & for all!

$1940/mo as per MBM (one of two Official Poverty Levels of Canada), NOW! In 2026!

We are calling for YOUR support as we RALLY at the B.C. Legislature on Monday, October 5/th from 1:30pm to 3:30pm to call for POVERTY LEVEL financial support for ALL medically assessed & designate Persons With Disabilities (150,000+) in B.C..
After decades of BELOW POVERTY level monthly support AND only 24% of PWD provided subsidized housing, it is time to provide adequate support to cover basic needs!
We are CALLING for $1950/mo (which is EQUAL & TIED to the MBM - one of the two Official Poverty Levels of Canada) for ALL PWD, regardless of shelter status, NOW - by the end of 2026!
We are also CALLING for 100% of PWD provided with SUBSIDIZED HOUSING within 5 years!
No more money WASTED on ridiculous administrative hoops & self justification processes within the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction!
