A little story of library joy from our Rockwood Branch, where we have vintage Franklin and Arthur posters on display. 🐢

Recently, a visitor told us something that stopped us in our tracks: he mentioned he's friends with Franklin's original illustrator! On a previous visit, he'd taken photos of our posters to share with her. She's living with Alzheimer's, and seeing those familiar illustrations, knowing they're still hanging in a library, brought her real happiness.

That made us pretty happy too.

Did you know games like cards, board games, and puzzles may help keep the brain sharp as we age? Borrow from our board game collection, add some pieces to a community puzzle, or play with friends at Scrabble Clubs at Aboyne and Puslinch Branch.

Games can also help loved ones with dementia. Our cognitive activity kits include puzzles and activity sheets that are fun to play together. Ask staff for details or request one through our catalogue.

Summer is almost here, and so are the babysitting jobs! Teens are invited to join Babysitting Basics at Drayton Branch on June 5 during the upcoming PA Day.

Participants will learn important skills for caring for children, handling emergencies, and becoming responsible babysitters just in time for summer opportunities.

The cost is $65, payable to the instructor on the day. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register early.
