Kick off your summer vacation with a hearty bowl of chowder, and come meet your local fire department members. The Auxiliary cooks the food, and the Fire Fighters serve it. 😊
The desserts are always stellar... if you know anything about Digby Neckers, you know we like to eat 😎
As always, proceeds go towards helping us be better equipped to help you in your time of need. Hope to see you all there.😍

If you have ever wondered about training opportunities in the area, wonder no longer.
With the development of our own regional training facility underway, the training committee and its certified trainers are putting their heads together to make sure all the area fire departments have access to training.

The members of the Digby Fire Department would like to invite the public to join us on April 11 from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM for our Annual Fire Department Banquet Dance.

Following our firefighters banquet, we’re opening the doors for a community dance with music provided by the band One Night Only.

This evening is our way of saying thank you to the community for the continued support you show our department throughout the year.

Admission is by free will offering at the door, so come out, dance the night away with your local firefighters, and enjoy a great night of music and community.

We’ll also be sharing more events throughout the year as we celebrate 140 years of providing fire service to our community.

We hope to see you there!

What a great time we had yesterday on the ice. It was awesome to see so many people in the stands and around the rink taking it all in. All for a great cause.

The RCMP had members come in from several different detachments. As for DFD, we had about half a dozen players and then called in a little mutual aid to fill the bench. Big thanks to Digby Neck Fire, Brighton and Barton Fire who brought three, Brooklyn Fire who sent four, along with players from 14 Wing Greenwood and Kingston Fire.

We even lent a couple players to the RCMP to help even things up.

At the end of the day, it was all about having some fun and bringing everyone together. Thanks to everyone who came out to support your local first responders and Clare Digby Minor Hockey.

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Please note, there is no domestic burning between 8:00 A.M and 2:00 P.M daily, and restrictions are reassessed and posted everyday at 2:00 P.M; in fire risk season.

The restrictions apply to all open fires, which encompass campfires, fire pits, chimineas, fire bowls, and outdoor wood-burning stoves, along with burn barrels. Additionally, domestic brush burning and industrial burning activities, including those for agricultural purposes and clearing building lots, are subject to these rules. Fire restrictions also apply to provincial, municipal, and private campgrounds, while national parks are governed by Parks Canada. However, the daily fire restrictions do not apply to CSA-approved appliances when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. This includes devices such as barbecues, fire bowls, stoves, and patio heaters that operate on propane, natural gas, or other gases intended for these appliances, with charcoal barbecues permitted only when using briquettes.

To report a wildfire or violations of fire restrictions (including illegal burns), please call 1-800-565-2224, or 9-1-1. The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (DNRR) and/or the local fire department will be notified and dispatched to the location of the fire.

Consumer fireworks are prohibited by the Office of the Fire Marshal when the fire risk map is red. However, professional fireworks companies with permits and appropriate fire equipment and measures are allowed to use fireworks.

Additionally, you must also follow your municipal bylaws.
