Shoutout to Tommy, Nathan, Leanne and Arsh who completed the Jumpstart program over the summer and were given a Chromebook to use throughout high school! Jumpstart allows students to earn high school credits while learning essential skills in Google programs that they make use of everyday.

Last June posters appeared around the school teasing an exciting development coming in the new year and at today's assembly all was revealed! After surveying the entire school population earlier in the week, students gathered in the gym this morning to receive their envelope revealing which team they'd been sorted into for the House of Dragons competition.

Meet the Houses:
🌊House Aqualus: Our curious thinkers. "Flow with Purpose. Lead with Insight."
🔥House Ignatious: Our brave leaders. "Bold in Battle. Strong in Spirit."
☁️House Skyrus: Our creative innovators. "Dream Boldly. Rise Higher."
🌏House Terrus: Our selfless connectors. "Grounded in Stength. United in Purpose."

Each student will earn points for their house throughout the year and rise through the ranks by taking part in leadership activities and events. Today they competed in a musical chairs style game and a hoops shooting competition with House Skyrus taking an early lead of 175 points! We are so grateful to Ms. Beazley and her leadership team for their dedication to boosting school spirit. More photos to come.

The annual Grade 12 slurpee trip with Mrs. Bessey and Mrs. Morgan took place this morning. It was a smaller crowd than usual (some of our grads have already written all their diploma exams) but it was a bright spot in the day for everyone who was able to tag along. We're going to miss this crew!

Our grade 12 students decided to use the last of their grad budget to treat the school to a pizza lunch today. We are so impressed by their generosity and our leadership students' willingness to jump in and serve it! The High School Prep class wrapped up their biggest assignment of the year: a Dragon's Den style business proposal. They came prepared with brochures, slideshow presentations, prototypes, websites and more. Ms. Beazley rallied together some of the staff to act as our Dragons and Mr. Hammel even shook hands on a few deals. Be sure to keep an eye out for the men's hygiene product subscription box he is eagerly backing (A.K.A. Monkey Box - picture no.2). It's sure to be a hit! 😉
