What makes a town a community? We would argue- successfully we think- that connection is the key. Connecting can happen when you engage in a program, take part in a class, say hello to a neighbour. A really powerful way to connect is by volunteering.
Last year our Snow Angel ( yes we said the "s" word) was not able to run as we did not have volunteers. The Snow Angel program offers those unable due to physical limitations assistance clearing their main walk and driveway.
Its pretty scary and defeating for our seniors to not be able to shovel their walks like they used to- and can be dangerous when they try.
We will be looking for angels again this year and ask you to consider giving of your time. Commitment can be one driveway, or maybe you can take on three - we can work together to make this work for you while meeting the needs of our community members. A great way to earn a letter of reference for our youth, a wonderful way to get steps in at the end of the day.
Just think on it. A call for Angels will go out in early October

Thursdays is Games and Social at the Didsbury Neighbourhood Place. The game of the season is crib but if that is not your game bring a friend and try something else. The space is open for connection, games and fun. New players are always welcomed
