Healthcare in Delta cannot wait.

Across our community, access to healthcare is becoming harder.
Walk-in clinics have disappeared. Many residents are still without a primary care doctor. And our long-term care facility has been cancelled.

We know healthcare is a provincial responsibility. But that cannot be an excuse for inaction.

Over the past few months, we have heard from Delta residents who are deeply worried about where they will go when they need care.
We can sit back and complain about what isn’t being done, or we can step up and do something about it.
Delta needs to be part of the solution.

That means identifying the healthcare facilities our community needs, working with healthcare partners, and actively recruiting healthcare professionals to Delta.
Our residents need access to healthcare today, not someday.

This is what the Delta First platform is about: listening to what our community needs and taking action to make it happen.

Healthcare in Delta cannot wait.

When we started Delta First, we didn’t start with a platform.

We started by listening.

We listened to residents who told us they felt unheard. People who wanted to have a say in what happens in their neighbourhoods. People who care deeply about Delta and want to feel confident about where our community is headed.

We heard the frustration.

But more importantly, we heard the hope.

Hope that we can have a city government that listens before it acts. That brings people into the conversation. That makes thoughtful decisions, protects what makes Delta special and plans for the future without losing sight of the people who live here today.

So we took what you told us and built our platform around it.

Liveability. Affordability. Accountability.

These aren’t just campaign words. They are the foundation of the Delta we believe is possible.

A Delta where your voice matters.

A Delta where decisions are made with you, not simply for you.

A Delta where we protect what we love while preparing responsibly for the future.

Today, we’re proud to share the Delta First platform.

It belongs to all of us.

Because before you can lead a community, you have to listen to it.

And we listened.

Okay, we’ll admit it.

This photo is photoshopped.

Because while we would LOVE to see a lawn full of Delta First signs right now, Elections BC rules don’t allow political signs to go up on private property until September 17, exactly 30 days before the October 17 election.

So we’re getting ready.

We want to have a whole fleet of signs ready to go the moment September 17 arrives. And we want to see a sea of Delta First signs all across Delta as we head toward election day.

If you’re ready to put a Delta First sign on your lawn, sign up today and we’ll make sure you’re on the list.

Because the signs may not be out yet...

But we’re coming.

On October 17, vote to put Delta First.

Delta is at the crossroads of major infrastructure decisions. We need a seat at the table.

The proposed expansion of Roberts Bank Terminal 2, up to $3 billion in federal funding for the George Massey Tunnel replacement, and the potential for a new Alberta-to-B.C. pipeline route to Roberts Bank are not isolated projects.

Together, they could mean more port activity, industrial traffic, transportation pressures and environmental risks for Delta.

Our community cannot simply be the endpoint for major projects designed by other levels of government.

If these projects move forward, Delta needs a clear plan to protect what matters to residents and secure direct benefits for our community:

• Transportation and road improvements
• Strong environmental protections
• Investment in emergency preparedness
• Transparent, meaningful consultation
• Fair compensation that can be reinvested directly into Delta

“Delta needs leadership that speaks for residents before decisions are locked in, not after,” says mayoral candidate Melissa Granum.

Our city needs a strong, credible advocate at the table asking the hard questions, demanding mitigation and making sure Delta's interests come first.

Delta deserves a voice in decisions that will shape its future.

Another strong voice in the community is standing with Tammy Hansen for Delta Council.

Leslie Abramson, a longtime Delta resident and community volunteer, has spent years volunteering alongside Tammy and has seen firsthand the commitment she brings to every community initiative.

As Leslie puts it, Tammy “doesn’t just show up for photo ops, she listens to residents, rolls up her sleeves, and stays until the work is done.”

That’s Tammy. She leads with integrity, compassion and practical solutions, and she puts community ahead of politics.

We’re proud to have Leslie’s support for Tammy Hansen for City Council.

Thank you, Leslie, for believing in Tammy and in the future of Delta.

On October 17, vote Tammy Hansen and Delta First.

"I’ve spent years volunteering alongside Tammy Hansen on local community initiatives, and I can say without hesitation that nobody works harder for our neighborhood. Tammy doesn’t just show up for photo ops, she listens to residents, rolls up her sleeves, and stays until the work is done.

Tammy consistently leads with integrity, compassion, and practical solutions. She understands the everyday challenges facing our families because she lives them right alongside us.

Tammy has proven time and again that she values action over politics and community over consensus. I trust her to represent us with transparency and dedication, and I am proud to support Tammy Hansen for City Council."

We submitted our nomination papers today.

And while that may sound like a simple milestone, it felt like so much more than that.

Because Delta First has never been about four candidates standing outside City Hall.

It’s about all of you.

The residents who have shared your stories with us. The volunteers who have given your time. The people who have donated, knocked on doors, shared our posts and introduced us to their friends.

And the many, many people who have simply stopped us and said, “Keep going.”

You are the reason we’re here.

We started Delta First because we believe Delta deserves fresh, accountable leadership. We believe in listening. We believe in working together. And we believe that local government should always be rooted in the community it serves.

So today, as we officially begin this next chapter, there’s one thing we want you to know.

This is for you.

Thank you for believing in Delta First.

“Extremely trustworthy and exceptionally capable".

That’s how Mike Storey, President of Ideal Door Ltd. and a Director with the Rotary Club of Ladner, describes Tammy Hansen for Delta Council.

Mike has worked alongside Tammy at Rotary since she joined in 2013 and has seen firsthand her commitment to our community, her strong ethical standards and her ability to manage funds responsibly.

From serving as Rotary’s Treasurer to helping lead major community projects like the $600,000 Ladner Rotary Splash Park and spearheading the Ladner Rotary Storywalk, Tammy has a proven record of turning community ideas into results.

We’re proud to have Tammy on the Delta First team, bringing her experience, financial leadership and commitment to service to the campaign.

Thank you, Mike, for your endorsement and for recognizing what Tammy can bring to Delta City Council.

Vote Tammy Hansen for City Councillor on October 17.

Read Mike’s full endorsement below.

I met Tammy Hansen in 2013 when she joined the Rotary Club of Ladner and I quickly found Tammy to be an exceptional Rotarian who became a key person in our Rotary Club.

Tammy has proven to be a true asset with fundraising & managing funds to project planning and volunteer work which allows Ladner Rotary to continue with improvements for our local community of Delta as well as several Global communities around the globe.

I can vouch for Tammy’s high ethical standards. Tammy is extremely trustworthy and exceptionally capable in all things.Tammy has proven that she is fiscally responsible which has allowed my Rotary Club to flourish with many very effective community and international projects completed during her service as Treasurer of Ladner Rotary.

Without hesitation, I will vote for Tammy Hansen to be a City Councillor because I feel she is the right choice for Delta. I urge everyone to consider her solid attributes and sound financial leadership when they choose their vote for City Councillors this fall.

Tammy was instrumental and spearheaded the Ladner Rotary Storywalk Project which resulted in the 2021 installation of 21 stations along a 1 km section of the Millennium Trail in Ladner that is updated monthly with a new story book.

When Tammy joined our Rotary Club in 2013, she became the Youth Director right away as our Interact/New Generations Liaison and continued in that Board Position until 2018 when she was unanimously voted in as Treasurer of the Ladner Rotary Club and has held that position ever since.

Tammy was part of the Ladner Rotary Team for our largest community project which is the $600,000 Ladner Rotary Splash Park in Memorial Park that opened in 2018. Along with Tammy’s financial acumen and her unending commitment to improving Delta, I know that Ladner Rotary has the best people for our financial decision-making and that has allowed us to maximize our fundraising dollars.

Voting in municipal elections shapes your community and affects your daily life and being part of this election is every bit as important as provincial and federal elections. Important decisions are made by your City Council and affect your “day to day” lives so everyone of voting age should exercise their right to vote.

I recommend that you vote for Tammy Hansen as your City Councillor if you want sensible and balanced decisions on:
• Fair and equitable tax rates
• Public Transit
• Police and fire services
• Public infrastructure
• Recreation Programs
• Waste Collection and Recycling

If you have concerns about any past decisions made by the current city councilors and want to see sound, rational decisions made on your behalf, you need to vote on Saturday October 17 in support of Tammy Hansen as your City Councillor in Delta.
