My (Shawn Gold) own experience was volunteering at the oral scanning clinic 2 years ago and the supervising dentist, working with the young dentists learning how to do this, noticed something on my eyebrow and suggested I get it checked. After a review by my doctor, I was sent to a skin cancer clinic and they agreed it was a pre-cancer growth and immediately removed it. That would not have happened without this clinic and I was just getting a scan because they had a quiet period. Spread the word!!

Our biggest 50/50 Draw Sales day ever. Today (Sept 12) we sold $1,560 in tickets and collected $130.15 in donations. We started off with 5 members selling and over the day had as many as 10 wanting to join in the excitement (Elgin slipped in and out before we could capture his image). Received from District 5040 Rotary Foundation Chair Ian Grant: "We are pleased to inform you that The Rotary Foundation has recently received a gift from Bonnie Sutherland of the Rotary Club of North Delta, BC, Canada, in neighboring District 5050 to establish The Bonnie Sutherland Global Grant Scholarship. This Directed Gift provides US$28,500 to District 5040 and/or Rotary clubs in the district to help underwrite an eligible Global Grant Scholarship." In our September 3rd meeting, Sean Hogan introduced a young lawyer from Italy who is part of the New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE). Exchange student Sofia Sfulcini shared a club banner with President Ray Marshall.
