-Determining shared priorities and strategic direction across agencies;

⏺️ Considering invasive species management priorities in the development of key local strategic
plans and policies.

In the PRRD, there are two main pieces of legislation used to manage invasive plants: the PRRD Invasive Plant Control Amendment Bylaw No. 2482, 2022, which is enforced on privately owned lands, and the W**d Control Act and its regulations, which are enforceable on both publicly and privately owned lands.

Private property owners/occupiers are responsible for:
Keeping their properties free of invasive and noxious weeds.

The W**d Control Act, section 2 states:
“An occupier must control noxious weeds growing or located on land and premises, and on any other property located on land and premises, occupied by that person.”

Bylaw No. 2482, section 3 states:
“A person who is an owner or occupier of real property shall allow any invasive plant or
Noxious W**d to grow on that Real property.”

Decluttering? Don't toss it. Share it! ♻️

The Peace River Regional District’s Share Shed program is a great way to find a new home for items you no longer need. With 16 locations, it’s easier than ever to give back to the community and reduce waste.

⏺️ Always check with the site attendant on-site to see what’s currently being accepted.

⏺️ If you miss the gate, please don't leave items outside—sheds are locked after-hours!

⏺️ If your item isn't a fit for the Share Shed, consider bringing it to a local charity shop.

❄️ Severe weather such as thunderstorms, hail, snow storms, ice storms, high winds or heavy rain can happen without warning and in any season.

Is your home storm ready?

These simple tips can help reduce damage and save you money:

⏺️ Insulate walls and attics
⏺️ Weather-strip doors and windows
⏺️ Clear rain gutters and roof drains
⏺️ Remove tree branches that could drop during strong winds
⏺️ Inspect your chimney or flue. This helps prevent structural fires and ensures smoke, carbon monoxide and other potentially harmful gases are properly vented
