What does it take to climb a hill for 24 straight hours?

On September 11, we'll find out.

We're proud to partner with Climb for a Cause, an extraordinary urban endurance challenge taking place right here in the heart of Halifax. For 24 continuous hours, Mike Hamson will climb from the Halifax Ferry Terminal to the top of Citadel Hill—and then do it again. And again. And again.

More than 100 kilometres. More than 4,500 metres of elevation. One powerful purpose.

Every step taken will help support life-changing mentoring relationships through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. Because when young people have a caring mentor in their corner, they gain confidence, build resilience, and discover their full potential.

This challenge isn't just about endurance. It's about showing up for local youth and proving what's possible when a community comes together around a shared goal.
