Wednesday night training focused on the fundamentals that keep operations running smoothly on scene. 🚒

Our members spent the evening working on:
🔥 Hydrant catching
🔥 Hose deployment & reloading
🔥 Pumping operations

From securing a water supply to efficient hose management and pump operations, every drill helps build confidence, teamwork, and muscle memory for the moments that matter most.

Great work by everyone who came out and put in the time and effort!

🚨🔥 HIGH FIRE RISK & HEAT WARNING 🔥🚨

With the current hot, dry, and windy conditions across much of Saskatchewan, fire danger remains EXTREME in many areas of the province. Our area is also experiencing a high heat warning, creating conditions where fires can start quickly and spread rapidly.

Please do your part to help keep our community safe:
• Avoid unnecessary open fires
• Never toss cigarette butts from vehicles
• Use caution with equipment that may create sparks
• Keep trailers/chains from dragging on roadways
• Ensure ATV’s and machinery are in good working order
• Report smoke or fire immediately by calling 911

Even a small spark in these conditions can lead to a fast-moving grass or brush fire.

As temperatures continue to climb, remember to also take care of yourselves and those around you:
☀️ Stay hydrated
☀️ Limit prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat
☀️ Check on elderly family, neighbours, and vulnerable community members
☀️ Never leave children or pets in vehicles

Dalmeny Fire Rescue is asking everyone to stay alert, stay safe, and help reduce the risk of preventable fires during this period of extreme fire danger. 🚒

The Kinsmen Club is hosting a 50/50 raffle in support of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team. ❤️🚒

The CISM team provides critical mental health and peer support services to firefighters and emergency responders across Saskatchewan after traumatic incidents. Their work is incredibly important in supporting our extended fire family when it matters most.

As part of this fundraiser, the Kinsmen are also running a contest between departments to see who can sell the most tickets…and Dalmeny Fire Rescue has officially entered! 🔥

You can purchase your tickets here:
https://checkout.kinsmen5050lottery.com/a/dalmeny-fire-rescue-volunteer-fire-department

We encourage everyone to share this raffle with friends, family, and coworkers to help support the important work done by the CISM team throughout Saskatchewan.

Thank you for supporting firefighter mental health and the volunteer fire service community!

Last week’s training focused on firefighter survival, rescue, and air management skills. Members worked through Mayday scenarios, victim grab lives, blacked out searches, entanglement prop evolutions, and SCBA confidence drills. Crews also practiced deploying the RIC bag and shielding the airway during rescue operations.

These evolutions push members to work through high stress, low visibility situations while relying on communication, teamwork, and training. Great work by everyone involved continuing to build the skills that keep both firefighters and our community safe. 🚒

Today we want to recognize the incredible mothers within our department who balance family, careers, and serving their community with strength and compassion every single day. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who raised us, supported us, worried about us when the pager goes off, and helped shape us into the people we are today.

Behind every firefighter is a support system that sacrifices right alongside them, and today we celebrate all of you.

Because of the incredible support from our community at this year’s pancake breakfast, Dalmeny Fire Rescue is proud to announce that the $3200+ raised is being put right back into our community through the purchase of new AED training equipment. ❤️⚡

These new AED trainers will help our members continue to build and strengthen lifesaving skills during medical training nights, community education, and CPR/AED instruction. Hands on training is one of the best ways to prepare for real emergencies, and this equipment will directly support that.

From all of us at DFR, thank you to everyone who came out for breakfast, donated, volunteered, and supported us. Your support truly makes a difference and helps us continue serving our community safely and effectively.

Events like this remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a strong, supportive town. From all of us at DFR. Thank you for showing up, filling the hall, and making the morning such a success!

We can’t wait to do it again next year ❤️
