Public Notification: A segment of Laut Avenue just west of Laut Crescent will be closed temporarily to all traffic on Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16.

The road closure is due to ongoing Laut Avenue construction and the water main tie in. During the two-day period drivers are asked to take alternate routes, watch for workers and equipment and obey all road signs in the area. Business access remains open.

The Government of Alberta is inviting public feedback on the Highway 2 (QEII) Airdrie Bypass Functional Planning Study, which is exploring a potential future bypass for east Airdrie between Calgary and Carstairs.

The study is considering potential routes and connections for the bypass corridor. The route selected would determine how Crossfield traffic connects to the bypass.

Temporary Stage 2 Water Restrictions
Effective Monday, September 14 at 7:00 a.m. to Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The Town of Crossfield will be implementing temporary Stage 2 Water Restrictions while crews complete the second phase of the water main tie-in as part of the Laut Avenue infrastructure upgrade project.

During this work, the Town’s water supply will be delivered through a temporary bypass line. Residents and businesses may experience reduced water pressure and are asked to help reduce demand on the system.

Level 2 water restriction include:
• No outdoor watering will be permitted,
• Residents and businesses are asked to reduce indoor water use where possible
• Industrial users are asked to limit water consumption as much as possible.

REMINDER: Western Drive road closure
Effective: Monday, September 14 at 7:00 a.m. until construction completed (estimated 4 weeks).

Western Drive will be closed near the Collicutt Siding Golf Course while the Town replaces a bridge-sized culvert on Nose Creek. The closure is expected to last approximately four weeks.

To access the Collicutt Siding Golf Course, drivers should detour using Limit Avenue and Range Road 12. All other Western Drive businesses will remain accessible from Western Drive.

Please watch for workers and equipment in the area, obey all road signs.

Thank you for your patience while this aging culvert structure is replaced.

The Crossfield Pump Track is officially open! 🎉🚲

Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us. Special thank you to our Founding Gold Sponsor TC Energy, Founding Silver Sponsor McKee Homes, Founding Bronze Sponsors Crossfield Dental Hygiene, District Fire Protection Ltd. and TAQA North, Community Supporter Carmens Bigway Foods and our Community Funding Partner Rocky View County, who made the Crossfield Pump Track possible. The celebration included a ribbon cutting, hot dogs in the park, a ceremonial first ride from Mayor Harris, Councillor Brennan and Councillor Cosh and a public riding for everyone who wanted to join in on the fun! We also had the pleasure of watching some amazing riders from Unreal Indoor Bike Park who demonstrated what can be done on a pump track.

Lastly, thank you to our Crossfield Fire Department for cooking the hot dogs and handing out the food.

We had such a fun day! Thank you for celebrating with us. We love to see how much the community is enjoying the new Crossfield Pump Track!

Please note that the flags in Crossfield will be lowered to half-mast on Sunday, September 13 from sunrise until sunset to honour the Firefighters' National Memorial Day.

The flags will be raised again on the morning of September 14, 2026.
