We are deeply honored to announce that Cranbrook’s very own Scott Niedermayer—former NHL star, Stanley Cup champion, and Hockey Hall of Famer—has officially joined our society as an Honorary Ambassador! Having Scott champion our mission means the world to us and the entire community. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Scott Niedermayer and Jason Caven for taking the time to conduct an incredible interview. Your time, passion, and continuous support for our cause inspire us to keep driving forward. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Scott! Stay tuned for more exciting updates ahead. 💙🙌

Today, we are sharing an update with our community about the proposed Hospice House for the East Kootenay and the work underway to identify an appropriate location.
Our vision is to establish a dedicated, 10-bed Hospice House that can provide compassionate, 24/7 end-of-life care in a peaceful, home-like environment for individuals and families across the East Kootenay.
With the City of Cranbrook’s 2027 Budget Citizen Survey now open, we know there is significant community interest in the potential location of a future Hospice House. We want to ensure residents have clear information about what the project requires, the work completed to date, and where the site-selection process currently stands. We invite you to read our Letter to the Community and updated Frequently Asked Questions at www.ckhospice.ca
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this important community project!

Grief can feel deeply isolating, especially when it feels like the rest of the world keeps moving forward. You don’t have to carry the weight of loss all by yourself.

Our Women’s Bereavement Support Group offers a safe, gentle, and confidential space to process your loss. Led by trained volunteer facilitators, our upcoming sessions run weekly in both Cranbrook and Kimberley. Each week, we will explore a different topic—from managing tough emotions to navigating special dates—to help guide your journey alongside women who understand. If you are interested please call the hospice office.
