ʔaq̓am Community - St. Mary's Indian Band The ʔaq'am Community (St. Mary's Indian Band) is a Ktunaxa Nation Community (www.ktunaxa.org) located 6 km North of Cranbrook, BC.

We are 363 Band Members strong with 7,461 hectares of Reserve Land. We are governed by a Chief & 4 Councillors and have recently completed a Community Strategic Plan, highlights of which are found below. This is the official page of the ʔaq'am Community. Amber, our community health nurse at ʔaq̓am Community Health and Wellness, will be transitioning out of her role June 16th.

“I just wanted to say, how grateful I am to have worked with the community. It has been a rewarding journey to support health and wellness here at ʔaq̓am. The Council of ʔaq̓am wishes to inform membership that one (1) Councillor position has become vacant. In accordance with the ʔaq̓am Custom Election Regulations (Revised 2024), Council has authorized a By-Election to fill the vacant Councillor position, with the successful candidate serving a term expiring in October 2028.
