The CVRD was established in February 2008, following the restructure of the Comox Strathcona Regional District into two: Comox Valley Regional District and the Strathcona Regional District. The boundaries of the Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District (CSRHD) are the same as those two combined regional districts and have the same board of directors as the CVRD and SRD combined. 📣 Stage 3 water restrictions lifted for residents and businesses in the Comox Valley Water System!

💦Stage 2 water restrictions are now back IN EFFECT 💦

Stage 2 Water Restrictions:

A person may only use a sprinkler to water a lawn and garden growing on a property on the following schedule:

- Even numbered addresses: On Tuesday and Saturday between the hours of 6 am - 7:30 am and 8 pm - 9:30 pm. They may not use a sprinkler to water the lawn or garden on any other day or time

- Odd numbered addresses: On Wednesday and Sunday between the hours of 6 am - 7:30 am and 8 pm - 9:30 pm. They may not use a sprinkler to water the lawn or garden on any other day or time.

Campfire ban lifted in the Comox Valley

Category 1 campfires are now permitted in all Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) fire protection areas, in line with the Coastal Fire Centre’s direction and current weather conditions.

A category 1 campfire is no larger than 0.5 metres high by 0.5 metres wide.

Category 2 and Category 3 fires remain prohibited within the Comox Valley. Always check with your local fire department for any restrictions that may apply in your area.

The campfire ban has been lifted in these CVRD fire protection areas:
• Denman Island Fire Rescue
• F***y Bay Volunteer Fire Department
• Hornby Island Fire Rescue
• Merville Fire Department
• Mount Washington Fire Department
• Oyster River Fire Rescue
• Ships Point Volunteer Fire Department
• Union Bay Fire Rescue

Fire rings and the barbecue shelter at Joe Walker Park, along with the barbecue shelter at Royston Seaside Trail, are now open for public use. The beach fire program at Goose Spit Park is closed for the season.

Comox Valley Aquatic Centre Re-Opens 🌊🏊‍♀️

The wait is over! After two months of maintenance and facility upgrades, we are excited to welcome everyone back to the Aquatic Centre.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during the closure while important work was completed to help keep our facility safe, efficient, and enjoyable for all users.
