We’ve gone back to our roots with our new name – Kinsight. We are all connected through a shared vision to create a world where Everyone’s welcome. Everywhere.

Kinsight is an accredited not-for-profit, charitable organization that has been serving the communities of New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra since 1954. It pays tribute to the families who founded our organization more than 60 years ago, and it underscores our vision for the future. You knew us as the Simon Fraser Society for Community Living, and while ou

r name has changed, our commitment to you, our families, and our community has not. “Family” is at the core of what we do. To us, that extends to the children, youth and adults we work with, our employees, our partners and the communities and businesses that we support and are supported by. Everyone belongs. On August 16th, Kinsight set up at Port Moody's Car-Free Day. Our team had a fantastic time meeting community members, soaking up the sun, and giving out temporary tattoos. ☀️

A big thank you to the Port Moody Foundation for featuring Kinsight on their Community Wheel! The wheel highlighted local nonprofits and gave attendees the chance to win prizes while supporting organizations making a difference. The nonprofit with the most spins also received a generous donation from the Foundation. We're grateful for your support!

Every July, Disability Pride Month honours people with disabilities, celebrating their identities, contributions, and leadership. It's a time to raise awareness, confront ableism, and continue working towards a world where everyone belongs.

From July 17 to 19, Kinsight was proud to join the Family Fun Zone at the Rotary Club of Port Moody's annual RibFest. ☀️

Families enjoyed the sunshine and delicious food while participating in our bracelet-making station and temporary tattoos. We were also thrilled to once again offer a dedicated sensory-friendly space, giving families a welcoming area to relax.

From the Queensborough Children's Festival to Coquitlam Canada Day, our team has had a blast connecting with you this year. Over 1000 people have come by our booth for a fun tattoo, a face painting session, or just to chat and learn more about what we do.

On June 15th, local families gathered at Hume Park for the annual New Westminster Children's Centre Family BBQ and Picnic. 🌲

Partnering with SHARE, we spent a wonderful evening enjoying hot dogs, bubbles, painting, and great company. 🎈

This year's picnic was generously supported by the New Westminster Legion Branch 2 during their 100th Anniversary year. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special!

On June 9th, we hosted our annual Youth & Family Summer Picnic at Blue Mountain Park and teamed up with SHARE for the families we serve together! 🧺

Despite the chilly weather, the rain stopped just in time for families to arrive and enjoy the afternoon. The highlight for our team was seeing the kids connect and play together! 💛

We had tons of activities going on, including pots for painting, pipe cleaners to make flowers, colouring supplies, and sports equipment to share. 🎨

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Coquitlam (lunch club) for generously supporting this year's event, and to everyone who came out to make it so special!

This week, families from our Infant Development Program, Supported Child Development, and the wider community came together today to celebrate Father’s Day at playgroup. 💙

Families stopped by to decorate special lunch bags and grab a donut for dad, plus picked up a mini booklet packed with fun play and game ideas to try at home. 🍩✨

Of course, we had to bring back the fan-favourite Polaroid photobooth to capture the memories!

Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing dads and father figures! Thank you for all that you do!

This Pride Month, we invite you to join us for a free, relaxed screening of the award-winning documentary A Place Where I Belong – back on the big screen June 18th!

🌈 This powerful film follows six LGBTQ+ people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the Connecting Q***r Communities (CQC) initiative as they strive for love, freedom, and visibility.

Thank you to family-owned Boston Pizza – Columbia Square, New Westminster, and their guests who generously participated in Boston Pizza's incredible Valentine's Day campaign! ❤️🍕

This yearly initiative supports local charities through the sale of paper hearts and heart-shaped pizzas, helping to make a meaningful difference in the community.

As a result of their successful campaign, Kinsight received $2,000. We are grateful for Boston Pizza's ongoing support of local families through the New Westminster Children's Centre, where we work alongside families of children with developmental delays and disabilities.
