Exercise Aurora 2026 🇸🇪: As the multinational exercise "Aurora 26" comes to a close, hard realities are being faced by the soldiers and commanders of NATO countries. This exercise as well as several others held in recent months have all fielded the same result. Near complete destruction of the NATO forces participating at the hands of war hardened Ukrainian drone operators.
Time and time again, section attacks and and armored advances were stopped in their tracks by a few FPV drones and drone dropped munitions. Sometimes even before the advancing troops even knew what was happening. The exercise was stopped 3 times for reassessment. Participants in the exercises admitted they knew in a real battle they would have been likely killed.
For almost a decade leading up to Russias invasion of Ukraine, NATO soldiers trained Ukrainian soldiers in what is thought modern warfare would look like. That reality has now been shattered. The Ukrainians are the most battle hardened and war ready army in Europe today. They have gone from the student to the teacher in the matter of a few years of hard fought battles and spilled Ukrainian blood. NATO generals across the entire alliance are now left to reassess their entire combat doctrine and prepare for a war that is set to evolve even further in the coming years.
