New Tecumseth is taking a leading role on the national stage. We’re proud to share that the Simcoe County Auto Mayors have received correspondence from the Office of Prime Minister Mark Carney in response to our joint advocacy for the Canada North Vehicles branding initiative.

In the letter, the Prime Minister’s Office acknowledges the importance of a strong and competitive Canadian automotive sector and recognizes the need for ongoing collaboration with industry and municipal partners as federal policies continue to evolve. The response also reinforces a commitment to supporting innovation, investment, and jobs within Canada’s auto sector.

This is a significant milestone—and a major win for New Tecumseth. It signals that our advocacy is not only being heard but is helping to shape conversations at the federal level. DYK - Collingwood’s new Long Grass & Nuisance Weeds By-law was approved by Council on May 4, 2026.

🌱 This by-law sets a 20 cm maximum height for grass and ground cover, clarifies boulevard maintenance responsibilities, addresses nuisance weeds, and includes exemptions for intentional gardens and naturalized areas.
